Lumbar Spine
The treatment at the Advanced Interventional Pain & Sports Medicine Center is based
on clinical examination and supported by radiological (X-rays, MRI, ultrasound) investigations.
Clinical evaluation is the first step in the treatment and the patients are clinically
evaluated by the physician at each visit.
Research has already shown that the radiological (X-rays, MRI, ultrasound) investigations
do not always correlate with source of pain.
As the hair grey and skin ages, so does the inside of the body. MRI of lumbar spine
performed on people who never had pain have shown degenerative changes, arthritis,
disc bulges, facet joint arthritis and degeneration, spinal canal stenosis. Radiological
investigations are important part of the treatment but are not the only basis of
treatment.
